Princeton EGGS
Several years ago Princeton University launched a bizarre project aiming to find out whether there are deviations from randomness that are related to major events and if they can engage the attention of a large number of people. If such correlation can be proved then this will reflect the presence of a global consciousness in the world. The project is known as the Global Consciousness Project AKA EGG Project. What the scientists have done is to scatter 65 random number generators all around the world and then collect their data for future analysis. They monitor the data and try to find global random deviations appearing prior to major events (catastrophic or other). If a systematic correlation could be proven then that would be a signal that something weird is happening that we haven't still understood.
The Princeton EGG project was launched by Roger D. Nelsona as a continuation of two decades of experiments at the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Lab (PEAR). The researchers in that laboratory have proven human intention can reduce natural entropy and create greater coherence within a random series of events.
The researchers have found that prior to the September 11 attacks the eggs have shown a 'significant correlation':
Through analysis of 144 sliding windows, from 5 minutes to 12 hours, in 5 minute increments, we find that over a period of 3 months, one date is associated with a statistical anomaly: September 11, 2001. On this date, the time range appearing most often is 6 AM - 10 AM, peaking around 9:00 - 10:00 AM, and the location primarily the East Coast of the USA.

However, another group of researchers that examined the data said that the correlation appears only in the specific time window of the experiment and if the time series are examined in any other horizon then the results show complete randomness. Most important is that there exists a flaw in human psychology that performs a backwards rationalization of data based on what their results are. This human cognition flaw may be important for many attributions and 'results' coming out of this experiment. The sceptics also added that there is no way to know which event is important and which one is not and that more exams must be made to find what is going on.
However, the past few days the Princeton Eggs have been showing strange results. Is something BIG about to happen again?
It is not sure if this is science, but it looks exciting. Predicting the future was always one of the biggest human dreams. Just make sure to water it a bit ;)
